Why counseling?

Because if you are here, you know something is not working for you. It can be hard to reach out for help and yet here you are. You’re already trusting your inner knowing! Counseling has so many benefits and gifts from helping you to get unstuck and create change, to increasing your support system and continuing your journey of personal growth.

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is an approach supported by research to effectively improve current functioning by addressing the impact of unresolved trauma and adverse experiences. EMDR works with the brain’s innate abilities to reprocess past and present material associated with difficulties and help individuals create a more productive way of living. EMDR can be beneficial when an experience or memory continues to feel bothersome or when our thoughts and feelings don’t seem to be adding up. EMDR allows our brain to resume its natural healing process as it releases uncomfortable emotions, thoughts and negative beliefs that have felt stuck.

What are your fees? Do you take insurance?

Counseling is ultimately an investment in yourself. It can create both immediate and long-term relief. The return on your investment? Living your best life and thriving of course!

Your investment for a 50 minute one-on-one therapy session is $180. Looking for longer sessions or more intensive work? Let’s chat about options to fit your needs.

Forms of Payment
Payment is due at time of service. I accept cash, check and all major credit cards as well as HAS and FSA spending cards.

Insurance
I am not contracted with any insurance companies and am considered an out-of-network provider. I am happy to provide you with a superbill, that includes the proper codes, to submit to your plan for reimbursement. If you choose to file with your insurance, you are responsible for knowing your own coverage and limitations of your plan. Please note, that to file with insurance I will be required to assign you a diagnosis and that will become part of your medical record. We can chat more about this if you have any questions or concerns!

You do have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE). Click HERE to learn more.

How often and how long are therapy sessions?

Counseling sessions are 45-50 minutes in length. We will meet as often as we can to achieve your goals! Most times, we will start with weekly appointments and then move to less frequent sessions as you feel ready. We’ll definitely chat more about this in our first meeting.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

I understand that life happens! I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Are you unable to make your appointment? Please cancel with 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged the full session fee.
